I made him do this, to post these photos 'cause I like old photos and the story (says RR)..
Garth says, "Seeming as we seem to be going back, WAY back, BACK into time, I can nay let it rest at a wee 1968 starting point, cop THIS young fella, he ha, beat that for an
angelic lookin' wee, blonde-haired laddie in the middle of the picture !
It was taken in August 1964 (when one was 6yrs 7mths old), on the front
verandah, such as it was, of our house at No. 18 Barnsmeadow Lane, Bookham,
Surrey, England, and from left to right we have:
a. Nanette Alison Cooley (as she was then, now Belling),
b. Garth David Cooley, and
c. Simon Price Lock, who was NOT a Fortian, but for those fashionistas
out there, is the founder and director of the (Mercedes) Australian Fashion
Week.
Around about 12 months ago one was waiting for one's baggage at the
carousel at Tullamarine Airport after a Qantas flight from Sydney, and who
should be standing there to collect same but Mr S.P. Lock himself. That was
the first time I'd seen him since approx November 1964, when we both
attended Bookham Primary School."
