So just what is "Grand Touring"? Are GT cars racers or tourers? Or a hybrid of both? To me the 'Touring' in GTVeloce evokes a classic driving experience, a not-quite-gentle but definitely unforced pace that allows the passengers to soak up the vistas without excessive whitening of the knuckles. Driving for enjoyment, for the simple pleasure of travel. Not just a trip from A to B, but not pushing the envelope, either. And 'Grand' suggests an excellence about the whole journey.
However 'Grand Touring' comes to us with a sharpened edge; to 'tour', you see, is also to race, in fact to road race. And of course, running parallel and just ahead of the motor car and driver in this archetypal 'touring' style, it was the bicycle and rider who set the direction, the pattern and the style for both these sports. Thus we cater for both cars and bikes here.
Oh, and the Veloce? Just plain speed. Not excessive, stupid, unsafe speed, mind. This site is dedicated to classic pursuits, plus a range of other endeavours that add to the diversity that is human behaviour. None of which are intended to offend or maim, of course. GTVeloce.com is a personal portal offering a selection of sites filtered by the site author's personal taste. The content and the links from this site are assumed to form an interesting, varied and appealing conglomeration, designed for a general, though at times mature audience.
